Diabetes mellitus type 1 affects the children predominantly. Everyday 200 children are being newly diagnosed with this disease and in the world at present about 5 lakh children are affected by Type 1 diabetes mellitus. The disease in developing countries like India has a huge toll on these unfortunate children due to unawareness and financial stress.
